As a mother to three vibrant daughters—eight-year-old twins and a spirited five-year-old—Anna’s passion for adventure is deeply ingrained in her being. Beyond leading Wild Hearted Adventures, Anna is a travel writer and the creative mind behind the popular family travel blog, Twins and Travels. In a previous chapter of her life, she also enjoyed life as the deputy head of a primary school, nurturing young minds and fostering a love for exploration.
Alongside Anna is Laura Bunting who will be leading the Yoga (on the right). Laura is an experienced yoga teacher and retreat leader who crafts transformative experiences that resonate deeply with everyone whether you are experienced or a beginner sharing practices of Vinyasa, Yin, and Yoga Nidra. Originally from the UK and now flourishing in Kenya, she infuses her teachings with a nurturing spirit that envelops each practitioner in comfort and encouragement. Day 1: 13th November – Arrive in Kenya
Upon arriving at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, we’ll be whisked away to our Nairobi hotel, setting the stage for an unforgettable adventure.
Whatever time you arrive, try to dedicate a little to yourself after a tiring journey. Enjoy the sun by the pool, treat yourself to a rejuvenating massage, delve into the pages of a captivating book.
As night falls, we’ll gather for a dinner before tomorrows adventure begins.

Day 2: 14th November – Nairobi – The Only City with a National Park! – Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage Visit
It’s rise and shine early today as we embark on an exhilarating journey through Nairobi’s wildlife wonders! We will start our days early as we venture into Nairobi’s Giraffe Centre – a sanctuary for Rothschild’s giraffes! Feed and interact with these majestic creatures while learning about their conservation. Experience the thrill of standing eye to eye with giraffes, and support vital breeding and reintroduction programs. Your visit makes a difference in preserving Kenya’s wildlife.
Our journey of wanderlust continues mid morning as we delve into the heart of conservation at the Sheldrake Elephant Orphanage – an experience that promises to be nothing short of magical!
Guided by the devoted keepers, we’ll delve into the captivating stories behind the elephants, perhaps catching a glimpse of the little one you’ve chosen to support. The Sheldrick Wildlife Trust stands as a testament to unwavering dedication and compassion, providing a haven for orphaned elephants who have faced unimaginable challenges in the wild.
Founded by Dame Daphne Sheldrick, the sanctuary has been a beacon of hope for elephant conservation, nurturing and rehabilitating these majestic creatures before reintroducing them to their natural habitat. We will witness first hand the remarkable bond between the gentle giants and their caretakers.
After a delicious lunch, we head to the renowned Nairobi National Park for a game drive. Nairobi National Park is the only national park in the world located within a capital city, and it offers a rare opportunity to witness iconic African wildlife against the backdrop of a bustling metropolis. Brace yourself for an extraordinary safari experience, where the savannah comes alive with the sights of lions, giraffes, and rhinos in their natural habitat.

Day 3: 15th November – From City to Bush
After an early breakfast that energizes our spirits, we embark on our journey to the train station, anticipating the breath taking vistas en-route to Voi. Enthralled by the possibility of spotting majestic elephants and graceful giraffes on the grasslands, our excitement reaches new heights. Upon reaching Voi, the vibrant team of The Hildana Lodge welcomes us with open arms, igniting our anticipation for the adventures ahead.
Nestled at the base of the awe-inspiring Taita Hills, The Hildana Lodge awaits. A gem within the expansive Tsavo region, ensconced in a 5000-acre private sanctuary. This intimate haven offers encounters with the wildlife inhabiting the Tsavo elephant corridor. It’s a sanctuary of tranquillity, a lavish retreat from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, inviting us to find solace in the heart of the African wilderness.
Following a delicious lunch at the lodge, we embark on our first game drive through the sanctuary’s untamed terrain, eager to witness its inhabitants in their natural splendour – Hildana is home to elephants, giraffes, antelope, zebra, warthog, lion and leopard as well as much birdlife.
A yoga session overlooking a waterhole, rejuvenation after our journey and preparing us for an evening of enchantment. Imagine savouring your favourite beverage as you gaze upon elephants quenching their thirst at the waterhole, a scene of pure magic unfolding before our eyes.
As the day draws to a close, we gather for a divine dinner served with the utmost care and attention, a perfect conclusion to a day brimming with adventure and wonder.

Day 4: 16th November – Tsavo East National Park & Orphan Elephants
Today marks the beginning of a real adventure. We start with an early morning yoga session, before an adventure-packed full-day safari as we head to Tsavo East National Park.
Tsavo East beckons with its storied landscapes and teeming wildlife. As we venture into its wild embrace, we’re greeted by a breath taking panorama of expansive plains and rugged terrain, a playground for some of Africa’s most iconic creatures. From the majestic dust-red elephants, the elusive leopard, the graceful giraffe – Keep your camera ready, for every turn of the trail may reveal a new wonder waiting to be captured in a single frame.
Pause by a watering hole, where a symphony of life unfolds before your eyes – elephants, zebra and antelope as they quench their thirst. And overhead, a kaleidoscope of birds takes flight, their vibrant plumage a splash of colour against the canvas of the sky.
As the day unfolds, our senses are heightened with each sighting, from the thundering hooves of stampeding buffalo to the spine-tingling roar of a lioness claiming her territory. With every turn of the safari vehicle, we’re transported deeper into the heart of the wilderness, where adventure lurks around every corner and the unexpected awaits at every bend.
But the excitement doesn’t end there. Come late afternoon, we embark on a once-in-a-lifetime journey to the Sheldrick’s Voi Stockade rehabilitation unit. Stockdales is often the next step in an orphaned elephant’s journey as their journey begins to become wild elephants again but with the guidance if their inspiring keepers.
As we stand watching the orphaned elephants being bottle fed, their playful antics and heart warming stories fill us with a sense of wonder and awe, reminding us of the resilience of nature and the power of conservation.
And as the sun sets on another unforgettable day, we gather together to share stories and laughter, grateful for the memories we’ve created and the bonds we’ve forged amidst the beauty of the African wilderness.

Day 5: 17th November – From Bush to Beach
As the first rays of dawn tiptoe across the horizon, awaken your spirit and embrace the tranquillity of a new day with a serene yoga session at The Hildana Lodge.
With hearts full from a nourishing breakfast and farewells exchanged, our journey moves on leading us on a captivating odyssey through the untamed wilderness of Tsavo East in search of more wildlife. Zebra, giraffe, baboons, elephants, lions, hippo, antelope, leopard, the list goes on. Nothing is guaranteed but all are a possibility – every moment promises heart-pounding encounters and awe-inspiring sights.
In the hush of the afternoon, we arrive in Watamu on Kenya’s coast. Greeted by the majestic silhouette of the Watamu Treehouse which will totally blow you away. A sanctuary poised on the cusp of Kenya’s coastal paradise, where azure waters caress ivory sands, and the whispers of the mangrove estuary beckon. Here, Watamu Treehouse offers a panoramic vista of wilderness unfurled.
Spend the late afternoon settling in before coming together for our first yoga session by the sea.
In the evening we will be indulging on some delicious food together.

Day 6: 18th November – Yoga, Turtles and Town Visit
Today, awaken naturally to the enchanting symphony of birdsong, as the sun’s radiant beams shines through your window. Embark on a leisurely morning beach stroll, allowing the tranquil waves to serenade your senses, or luxuriate in the art of rising slowly – the choice is yours, embrace a blissful dawn.
Following a rejuvenating yoga session, it’s now time to relax; bask in the freedom of a poolside morning, immersing yourself in the pages of a captivating book, or indulge in the sublime indulgence of a soothing massage, our lavish gift to you, caressing away any lingering tensions. There will also be the opportunity this morning to head to the beach and join in with a Turtle Watch if there are turtles being released back in to the wild.
Mid morning we will take a short walk in to town where we will indulge in a leisurely lunch, savouring the flavours of the sea and the bounty of the land. And then, as the afternoon unfolds, relish in the freedom to explore at your own pace.
The town has a vibrant blend of cultures, influenced by Arab, Portuguese, and African traditions. This diversity is reflected in Malindi’s cuisine, which features a mix of Swahili, Indian, and coastal Kenyan flavours. Fresh seafood is a highlight.
Malindi is home to colourful markets where you can shop for souvenirs, handicrafts, clothing, and local artwork. The Malindi Market is particularly popular, offering everything from fresh produce to handmade jewellery and traditional textiles.
Return to the Treehouse for Yoga and sundowners before another delicious dinner together.

Day 7: 19th November – Relaxation & Paddle Boarding at Sunset
As the sun begins to rise over the tranquil beach, we take a peaceful walk along the shore, listening to the soothing rhythm of the waves. Finding a quiet spot, we start our morning yoga meditation.
Until mid afternoon the time is yours so take it easy! Enjoy a relaxing massage, leisurely walks to the sandbar, or kick it up a notch with an optional snorkelling tour, where you can marvel at vibrant marine life beneath the crystal-clear waters. It’s all about chilling out and enjoying yourself—There is an additional cost for the snorkelling adventure.
We need to be back at the Treehouse by mid-afternoon ready to step onto the tranquil waters of the creek with your vessel, a stand-up paddle board or Kayak.
Here, amidst nature our leaders will guide us down the creek. There is nothing quite like the sensation of being cradled by the waves as the sun dips below the horizon, casting its final farewell upon the waters below. In this sacred moment, time stands still, and you find yourself suspended in a reverie of awe and wonder.
Return to the Treehouse for Dinner.

Day 8: 20th November – Mangrove Float
As the sun rises, we head off on a walking adventure through Watamu’s mangroves amidst tangled roots and lush foliage, nature captivates with its beauty. with the sun coming up over the creek, adventurers join an award winning experience, the ‘tidal float’ downstream. Drifting with the current, surrounded by serenity, a sense of awe prevails. Concluding the journey with a stunning breakfast on the beach, and laughter creating lasting memories.
After a blissful morning embrace the leisurely hours ahead, savouring the relaxation.
As the day gently transitions into evening, we gather together for a final yoga meditation followed by an unforgettable evening on the beach for sundowners cherishing the bonds forged and memories created during this magical journey in Kenya.

Day 9: 21st November – Departure Day
With hearts full of memories and spirits intertwined, we gathered on the shore for one last early morning beach walk. As the sun ascended, casting its warm embrace upon us, we transitioned seamlessly into a serene yoga session. With the closing circle drawing near, we sat in quiet reflection, grateful for the moments we had shared and the connections we had made. Though farewells await us at the airport, the memories of this wonderful adventure will stay with us forever.
The trip will finish at Malindi Airport.
